Unto These Hills Outdoor Drama

     Unto These Hills is a theatrical performance which runs from mid-June through August and features over 100 actors reenacting the Cherokee people's struggle for survival and the infamous Trail of Tears episode, in which 13,000 Cherokee were forcibly removed from their homeland to Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River.

Oconaluftee Indian Village

     The Oconaluftee Indian Village provides vistors with an opportunity to learn more about the ancient Cherokee way of life.  Here you can see Cherokee artisans chipping stones for arrowhead, weaving cloth sashes, burning out logs for dugout canoes, and making pottery.

Space Needle and Arcade -- For a bird's-eye view of the area, ride the glass-enclosed elevator 342 feet above Gatlinburg, TN.
