Bele Chere -- Bele Chere is the largest street festival in Western North Carolina.  Held annually in Asheville during late July, the festival lasts for three days and attracts around 100,000 people.   Entry is free of charge, all you pay for is what you want.   Great food of all kinds, live music, and plenty of entertainment come together to bring this celebration to life.

Folkmoot -- Dancers from all across the world converge in Western North Carolina for almost two full weeks during the Summer to show off their steps.  Performances occur nightly in various locations and tickets are always easy to purchase.

Mountain Heritage Day -- This yearly cultural event is held on the last Saturday of September at Western Carolina University.  Here mountain crafts, music, and food meet fun and games for the entire family.  From antique car shows to baking contests, face painting to sack races, Indian fry bread to banjo playing, Mountain Heritage Day has it all.
