Seasonal Flowers and Trees

The flora of Western North Carolina is some of the most diverse in the United States.  From native azaleas to brilliant trilliums, birch to dogwood trees, the area's wild growth is ever-changing.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riders love the winding trails over beautiful mountainous terrain and through cool, shallow streams which are located throughout the region.   At higher elevations, the temperature is always refreshing even during the Summer while brisk Fall mornings allow for tranquil rides under the cover of red, orange, and golden autumn leaves.

Fishing

Many of the parks in the Great Smoky Mountain have streams which provide fishing for rainbow and brown trout all year long.  North Carolina fishing licenses are required, but not trout stamps.  Please check with park officials before you fish and remember--possession of brook trout is prohibited.
